Being 1/4 danish i grew up with this fantastic dessert Æbleskiver. My grandmother, now in her middle 80’s who still speak with a heavy danish accent passed this dish on to my dad who also occasionally use some words and phrases in danish. I guess i have now inherited this recipe from him. I speak swedish fluently and it occured to me just now that adding mint to the strawberry jam might be the ultimate proof of degeneration. Dad might not agree on the benefits of mint but it served the dish quite well post pickled herrings with sourcream, norweigan Linie Aquavit and ale.
