Very much like traditional songs and stories of the past fishing flies are often passed on as gifts. They are free of charge and come with a silent ok to duplicate without any thoughts of patents or copyrights. This one named ”The profile” was given to me by our guide Heikki on our trip to Jämtland earlier this summer. Black thread with foam and a mid-shank hackle. A couple of weeks later it caught me this Grayling who had just escaped a fierce bite from a pike. Heikki put two of my Logcabineers in his wooden box. I hope he and whoever he might pass them on to get’s good use of them.

  1. That’s a beautiful grayling…”from the oven to the frying pan”, an American expression that things go from bad to worse. Though I suppose since you probably released him, things got a whole lot better for him.
